Puppy Vaccinations

Recently we have had a number of questions about puppy vaccinations. While a puppy is nursing its mother, it receives protective antibodies from the mother’s milk. Over time, this natural protection decreases until it is almost gone at weaning. Without this natural protection, your puppy is susceptible to a number of diseases. We recommend you bring your puppy to the animal hospital as soon as possible after weaning to begin the puppy vaccination series and begin protecting your new friend from disease. While there the veterinarian will assess your puppy’s general health and point out any potential problems. So remember to protect your new pet from common puppy diseases with early vaccination. Your puppy’s life may depend on it.
